You have to be very careful when buying used and antique diamond engagement rings because they are so many fakes and counterfeits out there. Unfortunately, the simple truth is that not everyone is going to be honest, and there are always people who are looking to make a quick buck. So be careful. So what can be done? Well, in the video posted below, Corey Harrison from Pawn Stars on the History Channel tells us some of the things to look for when evaluating whether or not a diamond is fake or not. One of the things you will want to look for is imperfections in the diamond. A diamond that it too perfect is likely to be a fake. Perfect diamonds are very, very rare and they are usually only sold at very high end retail stores. Secondly, you will also want to pay attention to the color of the diamond. A diamond without any color at all is going to be suspicious.
These are all things that you are going to have to be on the watch for when buying a diamond. The best thing to do is to visit a store like the one portrayed in Pawn Stars where they are both very knowledgeable and very honest at the same time. It could save you a lot of money and frustration in the long run.
